Pacific Northwest Honeymoon Part II: Washington

I truly apologize to my readers for not staying up on posting.  It’s been a pretty crazy 7 months but I am back ready to show you Part II of the Pacific Northwest Honeymoon where we visited the state of Washington.  This was one of the coolest places that we visited because each of the cities visited had its on feel (no two were alike).

Our trip started off after we landed in Portland, Oregon only to rent a car and head straight to Seattle to see Pike’s Place.  Man was this place pretty cool.  We got there right as they were opening the famous outdoor marketplace and it was bustling with energy.  As we walked through we saw fresh flowers that were really cheap (2 dozen roses for $13.99 in some cases), fresh fruits and vegetables, and of course, fresh seafood.  We were even able to see the original Starbucks!  We ended our visit to Pike’s Place at the famous Pike Place Fish Market where they are known to throw a fish or two.

Our next stop was over to Gas Works Park to see the famous Space Needle. We were able to link up with a close friend of mine who knew the area really well and ended up showing us another location to view the Space Needle. I was able to get some tremendous shots right at dusk.

Afterwards, our friend took us back to Kirkland and then proceeded to show us all the microbreweries in town. I convinced him to take me to Microsoft, Nintendo, and even a Google location which satisfied my inner-nerd. We have never drank and eaten so well! He next took us to Snoqualmie Falls which was absolutely amazing. It was a long drive but definitely well worth it and we were even able to stop at another microbrewery and taste some nitro infused beer which was cool!

We left with our stomachs full but very satisfied. We went back to Seattle and decided to visit the Seattle Mariners ballpark. We found that they were holding tours of the facility that would allow us to get in the dugout but our luck, they were having a graduation ceremony inside. We still got see the Owner’s box and some other cool places inside including press row. When we left, we went across the street to a great brewhouse/restaurant called Pyramid Breweries.

As we made our way back towards Oregon (our final leg of the trip), we stopped in the state capitol, Olympia, and boy were we surprised at the elegance of the items inside of the state capitol. It featured some of the world’s largest Tiffany lighting fixtures (yes Tiffany the jewerly company). They were gigantic and they were hung so high in the sky that we had to go four flights up to see them. It was not your standard state capitol! We left the capitol and then decided to tour downtown Olympia which was very small but really nice. The day was coming to an end and it was good to just walk around casually.

This was a great second leg of the trip and we saw so much in such little time. It really felt quick but we covered a lot of Washington. Of course, I’ve only shown you a glimpse of the amazing imagery I was able to capture. If we just had more time! You can see the rest of the Washington leg of the Honeymoon by clicking here.

Thanks again for reading. Part III, the final chapter, will be coming soon!

PS. It won’t take 7 months to post either!

GO GATORS!
